[Financial News] The owner of a barbecue restaurant in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, has claimed that six customers ate about 160,000 won’s worth of meat, alcohol and other items, then left without paying. The owner submitted CCTV footage to police.
According to online communities and other sources on the 11th, a person identified as A, who says they run a barbecue restaurant near Icheon Terminal, posted details of the incident on the 10th under the title “I Got Dine-and-Dashed in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province—Something I’d Only Heard About.”
According to A, on the 2nd, a group of four men and two women visited the restaurant and ordered meat and alcohol, among other things. The bill for what they ate reportedly came to about 160,000 won, but no payment was made.
After the group finished eating and got up from their seats, A asked them to pay the bill. The customers also asked how much they owed, but reportedly left the restaurant while A was briefly taking care of another task.
A also released footage from the restaurant’s CCTV showing what happened at the time. The footage shows four men and two women sitting at the same table and eating.
A said the related materials had also been submitted to police. “We sent the police both the CCTV footage from our restaurant and the footage from the neighboring restaurant,” A said, appealing, “Self-employed people are all having a hard time these days; please don’t do this.”
