[Financial News] After teenagers who appeared on actor Kim Ho-young’s YouTube channel became targets of malicious comments, the production team decided to remove the footage featuring them. It also warned that it would take legal action over inappropriate posts targeting the students and the unauthorized distribution of the video.
On the 10th, the production team behind Kim Ho-young’s YouTube channel announced that a problem had arisen in a recently released episode filmed at a Jamsil café. The team said, “We confirmed that some accounts were distributing the video without authorization and posting inappropriate comments targeting the students who appeared in it.”
The video in question shows Kim Ho-young visiting a café in Jamsil, Seoul, and talking with members of the public. Students who attend a middle school specializing in traditional Korean music and study instruments such as the geomungo and haegeum also took part in the interviews.
The students reportedly took part in the interviews in high spirits during filming. But after the video was released, some accounts shared footage of the students without permission, and inappropriate comments and posts targeting them were also reportedly made.
In response, the production team decided to make the original video private and remove all interview footage featuring the students. The video will remain unavailable until the edits are complete.
The team also apologized to the students and their parents. It said, “We sincerely apologize to the students and parents who may have been hurt by these comments,” adding, “We feel deeply sorry and heavy-hearted that a moment that should have remained a fun and happy memory has instead become one of hurt and pain.”
The production team called for an end to the unauthorized distribution of the video and the posting of malicious comments targeting the students. It also said it would take necessary legal action if such behavior continued.
