[Financial News] Hanjin is participating in three government logistics support programs for small businesses this year, helping ease their logistics cost burdens and expand their overseas sales channels.
Hanjin said on the 11th that it is carrying out the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency’s “Logistics Support Project for SMEs Engaged in Online Exports,” the Korea Small and Medium Venture Business Distribution Center’s “Logistics Service Support Project for Small Businesses,” and the Small Enterprise and Market Service’s “Logistics Support Project for Overseas Online Platforms.”
For the Logistics Service Support Project for Small Businesses, Hanjin has introduced a parcel pickup service for businesses that have difficulty using conventional fulfillment services, such as those shipping small consignments or seafood. Its own logistics platform, OneClick PRO, has streamlined the application and contracting process, and selected businesses can receive support for up to 90% of their logistics costs.
A total of 579 businesses applied in the first three rounds of recruitment for the project. Of these, 87 were selected—including 23 for fulfillment services and 64 for parcel pickup—and are proceeding with contracts.
Hanjin is also stepping up its support for overseas expansion. It was selected as the implementing agency for the Logistics Support Project for Overseas Online Platforms, launched for the first time this year by the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and is handling overseas deliveries for small businesses. It supports export logistics by linking its Incheon Airport Global Distribution Center (GDC), overseas network and cross-border e-commerce fulfillment system.
Hanjin has carried out the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency’s Logistics Support Project for SMEs Engaged in Online Exports for five consecutive years since 2022. A health supplement company that entered Japan’s e-commerce market using Hanjin’s logistics solutions and government support saw its sales quintuple in three years, while its monthly shipment volume increased at least tenfold.
After carrying out a delivery and parcel fee support program for small businesses last year, Hanjin has continued to work with partners including Saiso, Gyeongsangbuk-do’s online mall for agricultural and specialty products, and Grip, a commerce creator platform. These efforts help local farms and small businesses reduce logistics costs and expand their sales channels.
A Hanjin representative said, “Guided by our founding philosophy of ‘transportation in service of the nation,’ Hanjin is pursuing a range of support measures to ease the logistics burden on small businesses—the foundation of the national economy—and help them focus on their core operations.” The representative added, “We will continue to make active use of our nationwide infrastructure and logistics solutions, including Incheon Airport GDC and OneClick, to support the growth of small businesses and firmly establish a sustainable, mutually beneficial logistics ecosystem.”
