[Financial News] A Ferrari parked on a road near a department store in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, blocking one lane, has drawn criticism from drivers after images of it were shared. The vehicle was reportedly parked in a spot that also obstructed traffic through a U-turn area.
On the 10th, a post describing the situation was published on the online community Bobaedream under the title “Ferrari parked in front of Hyundai Department Store in Cheongju right now.”
The poster, identified only as A, shared a photo of a Ferrari parked on a road near Hyundai Department Store’s Chungcheong branch.
A explained that the road is congested with heavy traffic every weekend. They claimed, however, that the Ferrari had been parked for a long time, taking up one lane in a section marked by a solid yellow line, where stopping and parking are prohibited.
The spot where the car was parked also overlapped with the route used by vehicles making U-turns, reportedly disrupting traffic for nearby drivers.
A took issue with the fact that the car had been parked this way on a road with heavy traffic on weekends. They criticized the driver, saying, “This place gets even more crowded on weekends, but they obstructed cars making U-turns and brazenly parked on a solid yellow line before leaving.”
A said they had also filed a report about the illegal parking. “I reported it through e-People, but is there any way to impose further penalties?” they asked. “There was a tow-away zone sign, but I don’t know whether enforcement is suspended on weekends.” They asked whether further action could be taken.
Online commenters who saw the photo continued to criticize the parking as showing no regard for the passage of other vehicles.
Many found it particularly hard to understand why the car had been left on the road despite a parking lot nearby. Commenters wrote, “Did they really park like that in a U-turn zone?”, “Are they out of their minds, parking in the middle of the road?”, “Is the Ferrari too precious? There’s a shopping mall parking lot, so why park in a place like that?” and “You drive a Ferrari but can’t afford parking?”
