[Financial News] Global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield Korea will hold an online seminar to maximize the value of aging offices in response to the changing work environment.
Cushman & Wakefield Korea said on the 10th that it would host a webinar from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the 29th under the theme ‘Trends Have Changed. Have Buildings Changed?—Office Trends and Repositioning Strategies.’ The event is aimed at landlords and asset managers who own or operate office assets, as well as professionals involved in real estate development and operations, including those in Seoul’s major business districts.
With at least half of the offices in Seoul’s Central Business District (CBD) expected to be over 20 years old within the next five years, the need for a systematic asset repositioning strategy that goes beyond simple physical upgrades or remodeling is growing. The webinar was organized to explore practical solutions for accurately understanding users’ expectations and reasons for visiting, and reflecting them in the space.
The webinar will consist of two sessions and a live Q&A. Part 1, ‘How to Design Offices That Are in Demand Today,’ will analyze changes in workers’ lifestyles through social big data and introduce lower-floor branding strategies for creating spaces that people keep coming back to and spending time in. It will take an in-depth look at how changes to lower floors can increase asset value, drawing on successful cases such as a 322% rise in social media mentions after a renovation and holiday retail sales surpassing weekday sales. The presentation will be given by Lee Won-hee, team leader of the Branding Solutions Team in Retail Consulting.
Part 2, ‘Aging Offices: Reposition, Don’t Remodel,’ will focus on the global trend of the office leasing market shifting from an emphasis on physical specifications to one centered on spatial experiences. It will review examples from cities overseas, including New York, London, Chicago and Tokyo, that have successfully transformed aging offices, and propose repositioning strategies to turn shared spaces such as lounges, wellness areas and brand collaboration spaces into ‘operated asset products.’ The presentation will be given by Choi Jun-ho, deputy general manager in Development Consulting.
After the presentations, a 10-minute live Q&A will be held from 2:50 p.m. to answer questions submitted in advance and in real time.
Registration is open through the 22nd via an online form. Applicants will be sent a link to join the webinar individually.
