“Such a bizarre relationship”: Abusive comments flood in targeting Yoon So-hee, known as Park Wi’s father’s “foster daughter,” amid fallout from allegations of discrimination against Song Ji-eun

The backlash stems from the controversy over YouTuber Park Wi’s release of CCTV footage related to a KTX accident. As even old videos are revisited, the criticism is now being directed at Yoon So-hee, who is known as the foster daughter of Park Wi’s father, producer Park Chan-hong.
Two years ago, Park Wi released a video showing him spending the Chuseok holiday with his family and his wife, Song Ji-eun. Yoon So-hee, known as the foster daughter of Park Wi’s father, producer Park Chan-hong, also appeared in the video. It drew little attention when it was released, but has recently been revisited, particularly on online communities, as controversy surrounding Park Wi has erupted.
Some netizens alleged that Park Wi’s parents treated Song Ji-eun, their daughter-in-law, and Yoon So-hee differently in the video. Criticism followed over details including the fact that the two women had different tableware during a meal, with claims that “they praised only Yoon So-hee, a KAIST graduate” and that “Park Wi mentioned Yoon So-hee before Song Ji-eun while praying.”
Others said it was excessive speculation to judge whether the family had treated them differently based on just a few scenes. But as the controversy spread, criticism was directed not only at Park Wi’s family, who were at the center of it, but also at Yoon So-hee.
Indeed, abusive comments began appearing on Yoon So-hee’s recent social media (SNS) posts on the 7th. Alongside comments asking about her relationship with Park Wi’s family, there were also over-the-line attacks, including, “What a bizarre relationship.”
This is not the first time Yoon So-hee has faced abuse in the form of malicious comments. Last year, she also faced intense criticism after Netflix released the brain-game survival show “The Devil’s Plan: Death Room.”
Yoon So-hee, a KAIST graduate, showcased her strategic thinking on the show and actively took part in completing major missions. But after she gave up betting during her final showdown with Jung Hyun-gyu, she became embroiled in controversy over whether she had effectively conceded the win. Some viewers subsequently criticized her for “ruining the survival show,” and the criticism escalated into abusive comments.
There was also speculation that Yoon So-hee and Jung Hyun-gyu, who had formed an alliance and stayed close throughout the game, were in a so-called “talking stage.” After the show ended, Yoon So-hee explained what had happened and shared her perspective through various pieces of content.
After facing a wave of abusive comments following her television appearances, Yoon So-hee has once again become a target of criticism nearly a year later, this time over allegations of differential treatment by Park Wi’s family—a matter with no direct connection to her.
