All three major New York stock indexes closed higher in unison on the 9th (local time). A rebound in technology stocks lifted both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq, which had fallen the previous day.
Semiconductor stocks, by contrast, remained weak as bellwether Nvidia struggled.
Big Tech stocks generally performed well, with Palantir surging 5.2% and Tesla 2%.
Meanwhile, the 12th is Columbus Day, a national holiday, but the New York stock market will be open as usual.
