[Financial News] SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won visited Gwangju’s military airport on the 9th, where a semiconductor production plant is slated to be built. Asked about the planned size of the Honam semiconductor plant, he said, “For now, it’s planned to be two-thirds the size of Yongin. If there’s more land, we expect this site to become larger.”
Chairman Chey added, “Semiconductor demand is growing rapidly, so we need to speed up supply. Once conditions allow us to build, we’ll build quickly—as quickly as possible. I can’t say exactly when, but we’ll do it as soon as possible.”
In particular, Chairman Chey stressed, “Even if water and power are delayed, if we can adjust our timing quickly, we’ll move in first. We’re not really thinking about saving on construction costs.”
