“Sorry I couldn’t even tell those close to me” ... Kim In-seok opens up about the feelings he had kept hidden for two years regarding his divorce

[Financial News] Comedian Kim In-seok, 46, has belatedly revealed that he and Angela Park, 40, a broadcaster and former Miss Korea contestant, divorced by mutual agreement about two years ago.

On the 9th, Kim posted a lengthy statement about his feelings on social media, saying, “Today, I want to share something personal with those who care about and support me.”
“About two years ago, I came to accept the decision to end our relationship as a married couple and go our separate ways,” he said, sharing news of their breakup. He added, “Although our relationship as a couple ends here, I will continue to do my best for the children, as always, and work together with her to be good parents.”
Explaining why he had waited to announce the divorce, Kim said he had needed time to come to terms with reality and sort through his feelings. “I struggled for a long time over how to share this. I needed time to accept reality and sort out my feelings, which is why I’m only telling you now,” he said. “I wasn’t able to tell even those close to me in advance. I’m sorry to my family, relatives and friends who will hear the news through this post,” he added, expressing his apology.
He also said, “There were difficult times, but now I’m ready to overcome them and try to make a new start,” adding, “I’ll do my best to greet you in the future as a better and happier person.”
Kim, who debuted in 2001 as a comedian selected through KBS’s 16th open recruitment, has worked across various fields, including sketch-comedy shows such as KBS2’s ‘Gag Concert’ and tvN’s ‘Comedy Big League,’ as well as the trot duo ‘Kimppak,’ which he formed with fellow comedian Yoon Seong-ho.
Angela Park, who won the Miss Korea Hawaii title in 2008, worked as an English-language presenter at KBS, EBS and Arirang International Broadcasting.
The two, who were introduced by an acquaintance, married in 2014 and had two sons. After 10 years of marriage, they went their separate ways.
