The Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Cooperative (BMEA) announced on the 9th that it will hold the 2026 International Offshore Energy Plant Industry Exhibition (Offshore Korea 2026) at Exhibition Hall 1 of the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) from the 14th to the 16th.
This event is a rebranding of the International Offshore Plant Exhibition, held in previous years, as the International Offshore Energy Plant Industry Exhibition. The exhibition’s focus, previously centered on shipbuilding and offshore plants, has expanded to include shipbuilding, shipbuilding and marine equipment, eco-friendly ships, marine energy, AI and digital technologies.
The exhibition has also grown considerably in scale. In 2024, it occupied 1.5 halls at BEXCO’s Exhibition Hall 1; this year, it has expanded to cover all of Halls 1 and 2 in Exhibition Hall 1, with around 170 companies from 15 countries taking part. The exhibition will feature about 450 company booths and around 600 booths in total, including spaces for related programs such as export consultations and technical conferences.
In particular, the country’s four major shipbuilders—HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd., and HJ Shipbuilding & Construction—will participate and provide special sponsorship, showcasing the latest technologies and business capabilities in shipbuilding and offshore plants. BMEA expects that coordinating group visits by shipyard employees will also help expand technology and procurement cooperation with domestic shipbuilding and marine equipment companies and create more opportunities to identify new business.
A range of related programs will also be held during the exhibition to help participating companies achieve tangible business results. First, the OK 2026-Linked Integrated Export Consultation Event will take place inside the exhibition venue from the 14th to the 15th, with one-on-one export consultations and on-site consultations between around 40 overseas buyer companies and about 70 domestic companies.
Support will also continue for shipbuilding and marine equipment companies in the Busan area to participate in the exhibition. The Busan City Joint Pavilion, operated with support from the Busan Metropolitan Government, will host 11 Busan-based companies across around 20 booths. It will help ease the burden of exhibition participation for local small and medium-sized businesses while supporting them in finding new clients and expanding their sales channels at home and abroad.
A new Shipbuilding and Marine AX Special Exhibition Section will also open, focusing on examples of AI, automation and digital transformation technologies being applied in real-world shipbuilding and marine manufacturing settings, along with related solutions. The 2026 International Offshore Plant Technical Conference, which shares the latest industry technologies and market trends, will be held alongside the exhibition. It will address key industry issues such as eco-friendly energy, project-based technologies, AI and automation, while international sessions will share overseas technologies and market trends.
