[Financial News] Children and teens with developmental disabilities will share with visitors works they have completed through art education. An exhibition showcasing creative experiences they have built at their own pace will open in Jongno, Seoul.
According to the Milal Welfare Foundation on the 8th, the 12th regular ‘KB Spring (Seeing&Spring)’ exhibition, ‘Always, Spring,’ will run from the 12th to the 16th at 172G Gallery in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Works by artists participating in this year’s KB Spring project will be presented alongside the winning entries in the Environmental Day art contest held as part of the initiative. The exhibition’s title conveys a commitment to patiently waiting for and supporting children as they grow at different paces and in different ways.
The opening ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 12th will be attended by participating artists and representatives of the foundation and KB Kookmin Card, among others. A VIP docent program, in which artists explain their own works, will also be offered.
Explaining their own works offers an opportunity to share the results of art education beyond the classroom. It goes beyond learning about and making art, leading to an experience of conveying their interests and self-expression to visitors.
The KB Spring project, an art education support program for children and teens with developmental disabilities sponsored by KB Kookmin Card, was launched in 2014. It supports specialized art education, creative activities and the presentation of works through regular exhibitions. The number of education venues increased from six to 10 this year.
The foundation also runs Bridge On Arte, an artist group for adults with developmental disabilities, and supports its exhibition activities.
Participating artist Choi Ha-eun said, “I’m happy to be able to introduce my favorite dinosaur drawings to so many people,” adding, “I hope people who see my work will also enjoy the fun sides and stories of dinosaurs.”
