【Financial News, Ulsan—Reporter Choi Su-sang】 Ulsan Port Authority executives and employees took the lead in supporting jobs and independence for people with disabilities through its participatory resource-circulation project, ‘Re:Born Market.’
According to Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) on the 8th, ‘Re:Born Market’ is a win-win innovation campaign created to promote resource circulation and support jobs for people with disabilities at the same time. It does so by collecting donations of reusable items, including unused clothing, household goods and books, and connecting them with Goodwill Store.
Through the campaign, which ran over the past month, Ulsan Port Authority executives and employees donated around 840 items to the Goodwill Store Milal Ulsan Mugeo branch, joining efforts to promote resource circulation and sharing.
Goodwill Store is a vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities. It turns items donated by individuals and companies into products for sale and provides jobs that enable workers with disabilities to take part in the process.
A Ulsan Port Authority official said, “The significance of this campaign lies in more than simply donating goods: it gives unused items new value and establishes a virtuous cycle in which resource circulation leads to jobs and support for the independence of people with disabilities.”
