[Financial News] Daesan F&B (065150), a company specializing in meat processing and food ingredient distribution, is expanding its sales channels by adding online B2B sales to its existing offline distribution network.
Daesan F&B said on the 8th that it would work to strengthen profitability by expanding its online distribution channels. In the first half of this year, sales to its distribution clients totaled 23.7 billion won, accounting for 42.2% of total sales of 56.2 billion won.
It supplies pork carcasses and cuts to a diverse range of clients, including large distributors, wholesalers, butcher shops, catering and foodservice businesses, and food manufacturing plants.
In particular, since late last year, it has expanded its sales channels to B2B online platforms such as Meatbox and Top Meat. In the first half of this year, sales through online platforms totaled 2.9 billion won—1.7 billion won through Meatbox and 1.2 billion won through Top Meat—accounting for 12.3% of sales to distribution clients.
The company plans to continue expanding its online channels to secure a stable revenue base.
It also touts the speed of its production and deliveries as a competitive advantage. Cuts processed at its own plant are produced to order on the same day and supplied to clients that afternoon. In September last year, it received approval to use the HanDon BI.
It is also strengthening its quality-control system. It manages production and processing based on HACCP certification and certification for handling antibiotic-free livestock products, and carries out regular microbiological testing, finished-product inspections, metal detection, refrigerated and frozen storage management, and first-in, first-out shipping.
Daesan F&B plans to improve profitability by expanding its online B2B sales channels while maintaining the production and supply base of its existing meat-processing business.
Daesan F&B CEO Kim Sang-wook said, "We plan to maintain an operating profit margin of around 4% or higher by expanding our online B2B sales channels while maintaining the production and supply base of our existing meat-processing business."
