[Financial News] IPARK Hyundai Development Company is spreading an eco-friendly culture through employee-participation activities focused on resource recycling and environmental protection. The aim is to help employees directly experience the value of protecting the environment and put it into practice through a range of ESG campaigns.
According to IPARK Hyundai Development Company on the 8th, the company held a resource-recycling campaign for used mobile phones in the ninth-floor lobby of its headquarters on the 7th.
Around 200 employees took part in the campaign, donating unused mobile phones as well as earphones, handheld fans, chargers, USB devices and mice.
The company also held a similar campaign in the first half of this year. At the time, around 150 employees donated about 900 used electronic products, including laptops and printers. The total amount collected was 4.83 tons, which the company said was equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions produced when around 90 households use electricity for a month.
IPARK Hyundai Development Company also became the first construction company to sign a business agreement with E-Circular Governance and establish a system linking the collection of used electronic products with their recycling.
The used mobile phones and electronic products collected through this campaign will be processed by E-Circular Governance. Valuable metals, plastics and other materials in the products will be sorted and recycled for use as new resources.
Alongside employee-participation campaigns, IPARK Hyundai Development Company plans to continue efforts to reduce waste generated at construction sites and minimize the use of disposable items in office spaces.
An IPARK Hyundai Development Company representative said, "This campaign was created to enable employees to take part directly in resource recycling through the small act of properly disposing of unused mobile phones and electronic products." The representative added, "We will continue to pursue a range of community service activities that employees can easily take part in, putting the values of resource recycling and environmental protection into practice in everyday life."
