[Financial News] Lamborghini held its first brand event in Korea and unveiled two high-performance new models in the Asia-Pacific region for the first time. With Korea rising to become the region’s second-largest market and the world’s sixth-largest by vehicle deliveries in the first half of this year, the company plans to step up its push into the domestic market with the new models.
On the 8th, Automobili Lamborghini Korea held ‘Lamborghini Day Korea’ at Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and unveiled the Urus SE Performante and Revuelto SV.
The Revuelto SV carries on Lamborghini’s ‘Super Veloce’ lineage. Based on the Revuelto’s V12 hybrid architecture, it features enhancements to performance, aerodynamics and lightweight engineering. It delivers a combined maximum output of 1,065 horsepower (783 kW) and system torque of 1,425 Nm.
It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and to 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of over 345 km/h. It is the most powerful and fastest production Lamborghini built in Sant’Agata Bolognese. To mark the company’s founding year, 1963, production will be limited to 1,963 units worldwide.
The Urus SE Performante is a high-performance version of the plug-in hybrid Super SUV. Combining a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with a permanent-magnet electric motor, it delivers the highest combined output in the model’s history at 812 horsepower (597 kW), along with maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.
It takes 3.3 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h and 10.8 seconds to reach 200 km/h, and has a top speed of 312 km/h. The vehicle is also said to retain comfort through technical solutions applied to its suspension system.
Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, who attended the event, said, “Korea has established itself as one of the most important markets in the Asia-Pacific region, supported by customers with a deep understanding of and affection for Lamborghini’s brand, products and values.” He added, “Holding Lamborghini Day in Korea for the first time and making the Asia-Pacific debut of the Urus SE Performante and Revuelto SV here at the same time demonstrates the importance this region holds for Lamborghini.”
By vehicle deliveries in the first half of this year, Korea ranked as Lamborghini’s second-largest market in Asia-Pacific and sixth-largest worldwide. The event also marked the 3,000th cumulative vehicle delivery in Korea since Lamborghini’s import business began under Volkswagen Group Korea. Lamborghini plans to continue strengthening its relationship with customers in Korea through its latest products, distinctive brand experiences and close communication with customers.
Francesco Scardaoni, head of the Asia-Pacific region, said, “Having watched the remarkable growth of the Korean market over the past several years, I have seen firsthand how important a role Korea has come to play in the Asia-Pacific business.”
