[Financial News] Duksung Women's University announced on the 8th that its Dobong Volunteer Group had received a commendation from the mayor of Dobong District in recognition of its successful environmental education and cleanup activities for local young people.
The commendation recognizes the results of environmental education programs and local environmental improvement activities that Duksung Women's University's Dobong Volunteer Group carried out for young people in Dobong District throughout this year.
The Dobong Volunteer Group, made up of Duksung Women's University students, has consistently run participatory environmental education programs with local young people to raise awareness of the seriousness of climate change and environmental issues. Rather than limiting its work to one-off events, the group organized a variety of hands-on programs to help young people practice environmental protection in their daily lives, earning an enthusiastic response from participants.
The group also took the lead in creating a cleaner local environment by organizing plogging activities to pick up litter along major walking trails and around streams in Dobong District.
A Duksung Women's University official said, "It is meaningful that students who have worked in partnership with the local community and put the social value of environmental protection into practice have been recognized externally," adding, "We will continue to fulfill the university's social responsibilities and actively support volunteer activities in partnership with the local community."
