[Financial News] Daewoo Engineering & Construction carried out an organizational restructuring and personnel appointments on the 8th, focusing on strengthening the competitiveness of strategically cultivated businesses, including urban renewal, and improving its project risk management capabilities. The main changes were the establishment of a Data Center Business Team and a Safety and Quality Headquarters, and the expansion of its urban renewal organization to three teams.
According to Daewoo Engineering & Construction, it expanded the Urban Renewal Business Team under its existing Building Business Division into three teams: Urban Renewal Business Team 1, Urban Renewal Business Team 2, and the Urban Renewal Business Management Team. It also newly established a Data Center Business Team. Data centers and urban renewal are areas the company is strategically developing.
To manage risks on large-scale projects, the company divided the Business Management Team within its Strategic Planning Division into the Building Project Management Team, Civil Engineering Project Management Team, and Plant Project Management Team. It is also strengthening safety and quality. To that end, it established the Safety and Quality Headquarters, a control tower that oversees safety- and quality-related functions in an integrated manner. The company also decided to consolidate R&D teams that had been dispersed across its business divisions under the Technology Research Institute, bringing together its technical support capabilities.
A company official said, “This organizational restructuring and these personnel appointments are intended to proactively respond to the rapidly changing construction industry and support the company’s continued growth,” adding, “We assigned personnel without being constrained by seniority or region, giving top priority to each individual’s capabilities, expertise, and performance.”
