[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung is scheduled to present a premium road bike made by a domestic company to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who is visiting South Korea on a state visit on the 8th.
The Blue House said it selected the gift with President el-Sisi's hobby of cycling in mind. It explained that he is a cycling enthusiast and actively uses bicycles to promote public health as well.
The bicycle to be presented has a full-carbon frame and an electronic drivetrain. The aim is to showcase both the traditions of Korea's bicycle industry and modern technology.
To welcome the state guest, an escort flight by FA-50s through the airspace, welcome videos on large screens along Sejong-daero, and media facades at Lotte Tower and N Seoul Tower have also been arranged. At the official welcoming ceremony, the Gunpo City Boys and Girls Choir will perform a piece by Egyptian composer Omar Khairat, whose music President el-Sisi enjoys.
Korean dishes that reinterpret Egyptian food culture using Korean ingredients and cooking methods will be served at the state luncheon. The menu includes halal-certified grilled galbi and the chickpea sauce 'hummus,' familiar in Egypt, and the dessert has been shaped like a pyramid. The preparations also reflect President el-Sisi's preference for avoiding sweet foods.
At the end of the luncheon, Black String, a gugak band that blends traditional music with jazz and electronic music, is scheduled to perform.
