[Financial News] Peptron is tumbling on news that its technology evaluation with Eli Lilly has ended without a definitive agreement.
As of 9:55 a.m. on the 8th, Peptron was trading at 93,800 won, down 36,800 won (28.18%) from the previous trading day.
In a notice posted on its website the previous day, Peptron said, “The technology evaluation period for the SmartDepot platform we have been working on with Eli Lilly ended as of the 7th,” adding, “We take seriously the fact that we were unable to announce a follow-up commercialization agreement at the end of the technology evaluation period.”
It added, “This means that the joint research and evaluation procedures under the technology evaluation agreement have been completed; it does not mean that the possibility of future business cooperation between the two companies has ended,” and, “Reviews and discussions regarding future business cooperation are expected to proceed based on the results of the joint research and technology evaluation accumulated to date, with comprehensive consideration given to all the factors needed for actual commercialization, including commercial viability, mass-production capability, marketability and intellectual property rights.”
Earlier, in October 2024, Peptron signed a technology evaluation agreement with Lilly for its SmartDepot platform. Industry watchers have been focused on whether Peptron’s SmartDepot could be applied to Lilly’s obesity drug Mounjaro to change the dosing frequency from once a week to once a month.
