[Financial News] “We must build and implement a system that will enable us to take the lead in education in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).” Chang Pyung-soon, chairman of Kyowon Group (Photo) is driving the group’s AI transformation (AX). The plan is to go beyond simply adopting AI tools and boost the group’s competitiveness across the board by integrating AI into everything from employees’ work practices to educational services.
According to industry sources on the 8th, Kyowon Group launched an ‘AI task force (TF)’ last June to drive companywide AI transformation. Since then, it has been defining the direction and key priorities for the group’s AI transformation and identifying and pursuing AI use cases across its business and work functions.
The group is focusing first on improving employees’ ability to use AI. Alongside training in practical AI applications, it is covering subscription fees for AI services needed for work, creating an environment where employees can use AI in their day-to-day work.
A Kyowon Group representative said, “We are exploring ways to use AI that suit the nature of each role and job, and building the necessary foundations and operating systems in each area.”
Kyowon Group also plans to step up efforts to embed AI use in employees’ work, enabling them to apply AI to their individual jobs and deliver results. To that end, in the second half of this year, it plans to select ‘AI champions’ in each group organization to lead AX implementation and run a dedicated development program.
Successful cases with demonstrated results from AI use will be shared at the group level and scaled up companywide. In the medium to long term, the group plans to build a structure that enables employees to identify and implement AX initiatives on their own.
A Kyowon Group representative said, “The ultimate goal of pursuing AX at the group level is to ensure that AI use does not remain a one-off initiative, but becomes embedded in the way employees work. We will lay the foundation for employees to identify and implement AX initiatives and create an organizational culture where AX innovation continues.”
