[Financial News] During periods when no housing subscription applications are scheduled, housing exhibition halls will be transformed into autumn picnic spaces. Starting on the 17th, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will hold cultural and experiential events every weekend in succession at four exhibition halls in the Seoul metropolitan area and Sejong. From this event onward, information on public housing policies and LH housing projects will also be provided on site.
According to LH on the 8th, the autumn edition of ‘Our Neighborhood Cultural Hideout’ will take picnics as its theme, with events held for one week each at housing exhibition halls in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province; Incheon; Sejong; and Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. Programs have been tailored to each exhibition hall based on the region and visitor profile.
The first stop is the Dongtan Exhibition Hall (Cheonggye-dong, Hwaseong). On the 17th and 18th, it will run visitor-participation programs under the theme ‘Play Picnic,’ including the LH Challenge Zone and team-based recreational activities. On the 24th and 25th, the Incheon Exhibition Hall (Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon) will present ‘Art Picnic,’ offering family visitors activities such as mural painting and hands-on string instrument experiences.
The Sejong Exhibition Hall (Daepyeong-dong, Sejong), which regularly hosts multidisciplinary cultural programs every Friday and Saturday, will put on magic and balloon shows on the 30th and 31st. At the ‘Future Housing Exhibition Zone,’ which opened there in July, visitors can explore LH’s major public housing projects. The final event will be ‘Local Picnic’ at the Namyangju Exhibition Hall (Byeollae-dong, Namyangju) on November 7 and 8, featuring a flea market with local small-business owners, an outdoor picnic area and a parenting talk show.
A new feature of this fall’s events is the provision of information. Visitors can use QR codes and project promotional videos available at the exhibition halls to learn about public housing policies, LH’s major housing projects and housing information useful in everyday life.
Some experiential programs require advance reservations. Applications can be made starting today through the official ‘Our Neighborhood Cultural Hideout’ website. Detailed schedules and participation instructions are available on the website and official Instagram account.
LH has opened its housing exhibition halls to local communities as cultural experience spaces during periods when no housing subscription applications are underway. About 5,000 people visited its special summer vacation events. At the time, camp-style events—including music, reading and green camps—were held at four exhibition halls in Incheon, Paju, Namyangju and Sejong. This time, Paju has been dropped and Dongtan added, while the theme has changed from camps to picnics. The Sejong Exhibition Hall has hosted regular multidisciplinary cultural events since April.
An LH representative said, “We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that housing exhibition halls establish themselves as open spaces for communication where people can enjoy a diverse range of cultural experiences and get an overview of evolving public housing policies and housing information.”
