According to industry sources on the 8th, GS25 will roll out Netflix collaboration products in phases through the end of this month. Along with food items featuring K-food, including three snack varieties, chilled pizza, gimbap and dakgangjeong, it will introduce transit cards featuring Netflix content.
The transit cards feature IPs from major K-content titles, including ‘Squid Game,’ ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ and ‘Can This Love Be Translated?’ The products are aimed at foreign tourists and Netflix users in Korea.
Existing collaboration products are also being revamped for the 10th anniversary. Five varieties—two jumbo popcorn products, two potato chips and fried squid—will retain their prices while increasing in size by either 10% or 10g, depending on the product, and will come in 10th-anniversary packaging.
Since 2023, GS25 and Netflix have expanded their collaboration products, drawing not only on Netflix’s own brand but also on content IPs from films, dramas and variety shows. They have launched a total of 121 products to date, with cumulative sales exceeding 70 million units.
This month, GS25 will also hold promotions for its collaboration snacks and online and offline events. It will also run an event booth at ‘Netflix Feast,’ taking place on the 24th and 25th.
Kim Seong-jun, head of GS Retail’s Brand Marketing Team, said, “Through our long-term collaboration with Netflix, we have expanded the stories and entertainment in its content into convenience store products and customer experiences.” He added, “With Netflix’s 10th anniversary as an opportunity, we will combine popular content IPs with a variety of products to bring new enjoyment to our customers.”
