[Financial News] CJ ENM said on the 7th that its global K-pop content platform Mnet Plus had surpassed 50 million cumulative members. The milestone came a year after it passed 40 million in October last year.
According to Mnet Plus, about 90% of recent new sign-ups were people in their teens and twenties, while overseas users accounted for about 80% of all users. The United States ranked second among regions this year by number of new sign-ups. Its share of all new sign-ups also at least doubled from the previous year.
This year, Mnet Plus continued to attract new users by broadening its content lineup, from K-pop performances and livestreams to original programs. Major K-pop content, including M COUNTDOWN, and original content such as Wanna One GO and Sumbakkokjil 2 helped drive new sign-ups. The dating reality show Looking for a Rapper Girlfriend: Kiss or Diss also contributed to attracting users with its new format.
Mnet Plus also strengthened its online and offline connections. At KCON LA 2026, new sign-ups among North American users in their teens and twenties who attended the event stood out. It is also expanding the range of its content to include beauty, everyday life and food through titles such as Yeonji Gonji and Idols Table, while growing its collaborations with external content partners, including by launching its first brand zone, STAN:A.
Last September, Mnet Plus teamed up with HYBE to launch its first brand zone, STAN:A. STAN:A is a video podcast produced by HYBE Media Studio. On September 18, it made available episode 12, the finale of Blood Diary, along with all episodes 1–11, as well as Stan [Seventeen] and Stan [Evan]. It later released Stan [&TEAM] and Huh Yunjin’s English-language podcast Hmm.
“We are continuously enhancing our services and content so that global K-pop fans can enjoy content from their favorite artists more conveniently and participate in a variety of ways,” said Kim Ji-won, head of Mnet Plus’s business division.
Meanwhile Mnet Plus, which began beta service in April 2022, is now available in around 250 regions worldwide.
