[Financial News] In a cafe in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, footage showing students throwing cash at a part-time worker as they paid has been released, drawing criticism.
On the 7th, a video titled “Paying with Swagger” spread on X, the social media platform.
The video showed several students at a cafe in Dasan-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, throwing 1,000-won bills toward the checkout counter. When the bills scattered across the floor, the part-time worker picked them up one by one.
People online criticized the students, saying their behavior showed no consideration for the part-time worker.
“These students are out of their minds. Filming a scene like that and sharing the video without even consulting anyone is an insult to the cafe and its part-time worker,” one user said. “I hope the cafe owner reports the incident and that the students are punished. Such behavior should not be tolerated, even for educational reasons.”
Another user said, “It wasn’t ‘swagger’ (a Japanese word meaning pride); it was proof they hadn’t been raised properly. In a society where we live alongside one another, students who behaved in ways they shouldn’t toward others should be punished.”
