According to KAMCO, the event was organized for SMEs in Busan struggling with high interest rates and a prolonged economic slowdown. The aim was to present key programs from various business support organizations in one place, making it easier for companies to find support suited to their business situations and funding needs.
The briefing was attended by KAMCO, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), and the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Southeastern Region Business Restructuring On-site Support Center, among others. These organizations introduced a range of business support programs, including financing, debt restructuring, credit guarantees and business restructuring. In particular, participants’ industries, sales levels, programs of interest and management challenges were assessed in advance and shared with the relevant organizations. One-on-one customized consultation booths were also set up to explain support programs and how to use them based on each company’s needs.
Park Seong-jin, executive director in charge of KAMCO’s Corporate Support Division, said, “I hope this briefing will help local SMEs review a range of support programs in one place and find solutions suited to their individual circumstances. We will continue to work with relevant organizations to connect companies with the financial and nonfinancial support they need in a timely manner, actively supporting stable business operations and a fresh start.”
KAMCO supports businesses in restoring normal operations through various programs, including asset purchase and leaseback (S&LB) and debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing.
