Daegu Metropolitan Council to Hold 329th Extraordinary Session, Review 52 Agenda Items

【Financial News, Daegu = Kim Jang-wook, Staff Reporter】The Daegu Metropolitan Council will hold its 329th extraordinary session over 12 days, through the 19th.
The Daegu Metropolitan Council will begin its legislative activities with its 329th extraordinary session, running for 12 days from the 8th to the 19th. The agenda includes reviewing 52 items, including a bill to partially amend the Daegu City Ordinance on Intelligent Informatization, and conducting site visits.
At this session, the council will review a total of 52 agenda items: 26 bills to enact or amend ordinances, 19 consent motions, six plans, and one opinion statement.
The ordinance bills slated for review include measures proposed by council members in various fields, such as: △ a bill to partially amend the Daegu City Ordinance on Disaster and Safety Management (Council Member Im Hyo-sin, proportional representation); △ a bill to partially amend the Daegu City Ordinance on Compensation for Property Losses in Disaster Management Activities by Firefighters (Council Member Ha Jung-hwan, Dalseong County District 1); △ a bill to partially amend the Daegu City Ordinance on the Management and Operation of Sports Facilities (Council Member Kim Jae-yong, Buk-gu District 5); and △ a bill to partially amend the Daegu City Building Ordinance (Council Member Bae Chang-gyu, Dalseong County District 3).
 At the first plenary session, scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 8th, the council will hold an opening ceremony, vote on various matters related to the session, and hear five-minute speeches.
Five five-minute speeches are scheduled: △ urging practical solutions to the odor problem in the Seongseo area and the development of measures tailored to local conditions (Council Member Kim Gi-yeol, Dalseo-gu District 2); △ “Designation of Palgongsan as a Special Tourism Zone: Now Daegu City Must Make a Decision” (Council Member Kim Jeong-min, Dong-gu District 3); △ urging stronger efforts to create wildfire safety zones that protect residents’ living spaces in the path of the flames (Council Member Choi Su-yeol, Buk-gu District 3); △ urging Daegu City to take proactive administrative measures to normalize long-neglected urban improvement project sites where construction has yet to begin (Council Member Lee Won-woo, Dong-gu District 1); and △ urging the introduction of Daegu City’s one-stop integrated administrative mobile platform (Council Member Heo Jeong-su, Buk-gu District 4).
From the 9th to the 18th, each standing committee will review agenda items and visit various sites where city administration is carried out, listening to residents and people on the ground and carefully examining the progress of municipal affairs.
Finally, at 10 a.m. on the 19th, the council will hold its second plenary session to give final approval to agenda items that have passed review by the standing committees, hear five-minute speeches on various topics, and conclude its 329th extraordinary session.
