【Financial News, Daegu = Reporter Kim Jang-wook】‘Enjoy a Vietnamese culinary journey at Daegu Marriott Hotel, featuring dishes presented by a chef from Sheraton Vietnam!’
Daegu Marriott Hotel will host a Vietnamese buffet promotion, Taste of Vietnam: A Culinary Journey, at its buffet restaurant Urban Kitchen for 18 days, from the 8th through the 25th.
The event is the first collaboration in Urban Kitchen’s “Global Culinary Journey” series to bring in a chef from the region. Chef Pham Van Cuong of Sheraton Hai Phong in Vietnam, a Marriott-branded hotel, will travel to Daegu to present the flavors of different parts of Vietnam using recipes from the local hotel.
A Daegu Marriott Hotel representative stressed, “Through our collaboration with a global Marriott-branded hotel, we have prepared an opportunity for guests in Daegu to experience the recipes of a chef from a hotel in Vietnam just as they are.” The representative added, “We will continue introducing flavors from different countries through ‘Global Culinary Journey.’”
The representative also said, “With Vietnamese dishes available at several stations, guests can experience local flavors in Daegu without traveling abroad,” adding, “We expect this to be a welcome opportunity not only for family dining but also for those who want to relive memories of traveling in Vietnam.”
The menu features around 15 dishes, from signature Vietnamese fare to regional specialties from Hai Phong, and offers a variety of options from breakfast through dinner.
Familiar Vietnamese dishes include bun cha, Hanoi-style charcoal-grilled pork served with rice noodles, and banh xeo, a crispy rice-flour pancake served with a variety of ingredients.
Also drawing attention is banh da cua, Hai Phong’s signature noodle soup flavored with crab broth, which brings the local flavors of Hai Phong to the menu.
Guests can also enjoy Vietnamese-style restorative dishes suited to the cooler weather, including herbal chicken soup and chicken and lotus seed porridge.
The regular weekday rates are 79,200 won for an adult lunch and 99,000 won for dinner. On weekends and public holidays, the rate is 119,000 won.
A variety of discounts are also available when booking through Naver.
