Double Discounts on KakaoTalk Gift, Talk Deal and Kakao Shopping Live ... ‘It’s Kakao Shopping Festa’ Kicks Off

[Financial News] Kakao said on the 7th that it would hold its biggest discount event of the year for Kakao Shopping, “A Shopping Festival with Double Discounts — It’s Kakao Shopping Festa,” from the 12th to the 25th.
Kakao Shopping Festa is a large-scale shopping festival centered on the KakaoTalk Shopping tab, with major Kakao Shopping services such as KakaoTalk Gift, Kakao Talk Deal and Kakao Shopping Live taking part. By combining coupons available daily with Kakao Pay discounts usable an unlimited number of times, it offers users the biggest benefits of the year.
Starting on the 12th, users can get first-come, first-served coupons in Talk Deal and KakaoTalk Gift, available at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, each offering 5,000 won off purchases of at least 20,000 won. At 8 a.m. each day, users can also receive a daily coupon pack with three coupons: 2,000 won off purchases of at least 20,000 won, 5,000 won off purchases of at least 50,000 won, and 10,000 won off purchases of at least 100,000 won.
Discounts on Kakao Pay payments will also be available. In KakaoTalk Gift, paying at least 20,000 won with Kakao Pay Money gets you an additional 10% off delivery items, up to 10,000 won, or 2,000 won off exchange vouchers. For premium special-price products, a 5% discount, up to 50,000 won, is available when paying at least 200,000 won with Kakao Pay (Money or Card). In Talk Deal, paying at least 20,000 won with Kakao Pay Money gets you 10% off, up to 10,000 won; selected products also get a 7% discount, up to 300,000 won, on purchases of at least 200,000 won paid for with Kakao Pay Money or Card. Payment discounts can be used without limit throughout the event.
Special-price products will be newly unveiled every day during the event. Highlights include “24-Hour Kakao Shopping Festa Deal,” featuring new delivery items at limited-time special prices each day; “Lowest-Price Challenge,” a collection of great limited-time deals; and “Exchange Voucher Specials,” offering discounted vouchers from popular brands such as Paris Baguette and A Twosome Place. The event will also feature a Today’s Brand promotion with major brands across a range of categories, including Helen Kaminski, Dyson, Yuhan-Kimberly and CJ CheilJedang.
Kakao Shopping Live will offer special-price products exclusive to live broadcasts through “Today’s Live” and “Influencer Picks.” Influencers will introduce seasonally tailored products across categories such as home appliances, beauty, food and leisure during livestreams.
When users share news of Kakao Shopping Festa with friends and an invited friend visits the page, they earn 100 points for each friend, up to 10 friends. After that, an additional 500 points are earned for every 10 friends invited. The user who invites the most friends will receive an additional 1 million points. A limited-edition Kakao Shopping Festa character plush key ring will also be given to 4,000 event participants selected by lottery.
A pre-event, “It’s Kakao Shopping Festa in October,” will also run through the 11th. Everyone who signs up for advance notifications will receive a 1,000-won discount coupon for purchases of at least 10,000 won, usable in both KakaoTalk Gift and Talk Deal. The event information page, now available, lets users preview participating brands and special-price products from 24-Hour Kakao Shopping Festa Deal.
Meanwhile, subscribers to Kakao Membership, which began accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis on October 1, can get even greater benefits during Kakao Shopping Festa. They will receive a 15% discount coupon, up to 2,000 won, on purchases of at least 10,000 won—a coupon available only to members—as well as the ability to earn Shopping Points and Kakao Pay Points simultaneously.
