3billion said on the 7th that it would launch the “10 Years of Answers, Together” campaign to mark its 10th anniversary. The campaign aims to look back on the past 10 years spent alongside patients and their families, medical professionals, researchers and partners, and to share the company’s future business direction.
Since its establishment in 2016, 3billion has been developing AI-based genetic variant interpretation technology to address what is known as the “diagnostic odyssey”—the problem of rare disease patients having to visit multiple medical institutions before receiving an accurate diagnosis.
Over the past 10 years, 3billion has provided genetic testing results to more than 100,000 patients. More than 2,200 medical professionals in over 75 countries currently use its tests. Revenue at least doubled for three consecutive years, reaching 11.7 billion won in 2025.
3billion also disclosed genomic analysis data accumulated over the years. The company has cumulatively analyzed about 3.287 trillion base pairs of DNA, and the genomic data stored on its servers totals 4,200 TB. It has reported 48,798 genetic variants to patients.
Through its 10th-anniversary website, 3billion will make visualizations of this data available and roll out content featuring major milestones from the past 10 years, along with stories from patients, medical professionals and partners.
The 10-part series will cover the problems the company set out to solve in rare disease genetic diagnosis when it was founded, the process of developing its technology, experiences of patients and families who found the cause of a disease through diagnosis, and the diagnostic process followed by medical professionals.
3billion CEO Geum Chang-won said, “Medical professionals, patients and their families, partner institutions and employees have all worked together to deliver test results to more than 100,000 patients. We will continue to bring answers to more rare disease patients and their families and create possibilities that extend from diagnosis to drug development.”
During the campaign, 3billion will invite messages of support on its 10th-anniversary website and plans to tie each comment to one hour of volunteer work by an employee.
