According to industry sources on the 7th, the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Women Enterprise Supporting Center and the Korea Business Angels Association signed an MOU on Promoting Investment in Women-Led Startups on the 6th. Attendees at the signing ceremony included Park Chang-sook, chair of the association and board chair of the center, and Lee Jong-hoon, chair of the Korea Business Angels Association.
Through the agreement, the three organizations will work together to strengthen women entrepreneurs’ investment capabilities and support women-led startups in attracting investment and growing.
They plan to jointly run training courses to develop angel investors among women entrepreneurs and provide advice and consulting on operating individual investment associations and startup accelerators (ACs). They will also hold investor relations (IR) presentations and mentoring sessions for women-led startups, and pursue the creation of funds tailored to women-owned businesses.
“The capital and management experience of successful women entrepreneurs can contribute to the growth of early-stage women-led startups,” said Lee Jong-hoon, chair of the Korea Business Angels Association. “We will build an investment ecosystem in which investments by more experienced businesspeople help the next generation of entrepreneurs grow.”
“This year, we are working to establish a women’s startup fund, beginning with the center’s registration as a startup accelerator,” said Park Chang-sook, chair of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association and board chair of the Women Enterprise Supporting Center. “With this agreement as an opportunity, we will make our collaboration more concrete to identify women-led startups, invest in them and support their growth.”
