According to industry sources on the 7th, CJ Logistics will participate as the official logistics provider at the 2026 National Excellent Market Expo, taking place from the 9th to the 11th, and will offer on-site parcel drop-off services.
The National Excellent Market Expo is being held for the 22nd time this year and is jointly organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, South Chungcheong Province, Gongju City, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and the National Merchants Association. Around 130 booths representing traditional markets and shopping districts from across the country, as well as related organizations and businesses, will showcase regional products and foods.
Following the event held last year in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, CJ Logistics is participating as the official logistics provider for the second consecutive year.
During the event, a parcel drop-off booth will be set up in the second-floor lobby of Art Center GOMA. Visitors can send goods purchased at the venue to an address of their choice through CJ Logistics’ Bonaone service.
The drop-off process has also been simplified. Visitors can scan the QR code at the booth with their smartphones and enter the delivery information to drop off parcels on-site immediately.
The company will also offer return shipping for merchants taking part in the expo. After the event, merchants can register unsold goods for shipment on-site, and the goods will be delivered to their stores. This is intended to ease the burden on participating merchants of having to transport the goods back themselves.
CJ Logistics is also expanding its logistics partnerships with traditional markets. Last year, it signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Merchants Association to establish a mutually beneficial logistics partnership model for traditional markets. In June, it introduced a collaborative delivery model based on a parcel drop-off center at Daejeon’s Taepyeong Market, followed by one at Osan’s Osaek Market in August.
As traditional markets gain more opportunities to use delivery infrastructure, the services are expected to improve convenience for consumers and ease merchants’ logistics burden. The development is significant because, as online and contactless shopping have become commonplace, the ability to offer services that connect purchases with delivery is becoming increasingly important to traditional markets as well.
Yoon Jaeseung, head of CJ Logistics’ O-NE division, said, “We plan to provide logistics support across the board so consumers can conveniently send their purchases home and merchants can easily return unsold goods to their stores after an event. Going forward, we will continue to expand convenient delivery services that traditional-market merchants and consumers alike can experience firsthand, backed by Bonaone and our nationwide logistics network.”
