[Financial News] Nuri (KSLV-II) completed its fifth launch normally. The 15 satellites aboard the rocket were also successfully deployed.
Nuri (KSLV-II) successfully lifted off for its fifth launch as scheduled at 12:25 p.m. on the 7th from Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province. It reached its target altitude at around 12:37 p.m., then successfully separated all 15 satellites at around 12:41 p.m., including five primary payload Neonsat satellites and 10 secondary payload CubeSats. The rocket ended its flight at around 12:45 p.m.
The Korea Aerospace Administration and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute said, "Five microsatellite constellation satellites and 10 CubeSats were successfully deployed, and KARI researchers are currently analyzing Nuri's flight data." They added, "We plan to present a summary of the results of Nuri's fifth launch at the MDC site at 1 p.m. and hold a briefing on the detailed results of the fifth launch at 2 p.m."
Earlier, in preparation for that day's launch, Nuri completed checks of its propellant supply system at around 7:50 a.m. and finished loading fuel and oxidizer at around 11:06 a.m. It then completed retraction of the erector at around 11:55 a.m. At 12:15 p.m., 10 minutes before the scheduled launch time of 12:25 p.m., it switched to automatic operation mode.
Nuri carried five primary payload microsatellite constellation satellites and 10 secondary payload CubeSats. The constellation satellites are to precisely monitor the Korean Peninsula, while the CubeSats are expected to explore the space environment through experiments involving pharmaceuticals and industrial components in space, as well as observations of the space radiation environment and Earth's magnetic field.
