[Financial News] Sindorim Woosung 1st Apartment has become the first Seoul-style remodeling pilot complex to receive approval for remodeling work, accelerating the project.
According to the redevelopment industry on the 7th, the Sindorim Woosung 1st Apartment Remodeling Housing Association obtained a remodeling permit from Guro District Office on the 30th of last month. This came about seven months after it applied for the permit in February this year, following its pursuit of an amendment to the district-unit plan after preliminary consultation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Urban Planning and Architecture Joint Committee in 2025.
Completed in 1992, the complex will be transformed through remodeling from its current 169 households into Sindorim Xi First Mark, with a total of 194 households. The existing 73-square-meter and 84-square-meter units will be expanded to 104 square meters and 118 square meters, respectively, significantly improving living conditions. In particular, the 25 additional units will feature the popular 84-square-meter layout favored by end users and a four-bay design that allows for good natural light and ventilation, maximizing the market appeal of the units for general sale.
Sindorim-dong, where the complex is located, is a major transportation hub in southwestern Seoul, home to Sindorim Station, served by subway Lines 1 and 2. Walking trails along Dorimcheon and Anyangcheon, as well as abundant recreational sports facilities including soccer fields and a park golf course, are nearby, making for a pleasant residential environment. The area is also well served by a strong school district, including Sindorim Middle School, and large commercial facilities.
The association plans to step up follow-up work, starting negotiations with its contractor, GS E&C, on the main construction contract while beginning to coordinate the timing of members’ relocation and the specific procedures involved.
Ryu Ji-taek, head of the Sindorim Woosung 1st Apartment Remodeling Housing Association, said, “We will ensure that negotiations on the main contract with GS E&C and preparations for the relocation proceed without a hitch,” adding, “We will create a new residential complex that matches Sindorim’s diverse lifestyle infrastructure—not only its transportation and education, but also the natural environments of Dorimcheon and Anyangcheon and its recreational sports facilities—and contribute to strengthening the area’s residential appeal.”
