[Financial News] After selling out its first special offer of promissory notes, Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. is launching a second sale.
Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. said on the 7th that it will launch its second special offer of promissory notes on the 12th.
The special offer provides customers with a comprehensive account at Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. with one-year notes paying an annual rate of 4.3% before tax. The minimum purchase is 1 million won per person, and the maximum is 300 million won. Sales will close early once the issuance limit of 100 billion won is reached.
A new CMA-type comprehensive asset management account for promissory notes is also being launched. The CMA type offers automatic purchases and sales of promissory notes when customers deposit or withdraw funds, making it easy to use.
Regular promissory-note products offer annual rates of 4.6% for the installment-savings type and 2.55% for the CMA and on-demand types. By term, the rates are 2.65% for notes with terms of 2–90 days, 3.2% for 91–180 days, 3.6% for 181–270 days, and 3.95% for 271–364 days and one year. All rates are before tax.
Promissory notes are short-term financial products with a maturity of one year or less that may be issued only by securities firms designated as ultra-large investment banks (IBs) with equity capital of 4 trillion won or more.
Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. received approval to operate a promissory-note business last month. Its first special offer, for one-year notes paying an annual rate of 4.3%, reached its 100 billion won target just two and a half days after launch.
A Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. representative said, "We hope the launch of these promissory notes will provide practical help to customers in managing their assets stably."
