[Financial News] In the edtech market, AI-powered personalized education is evolving beyond simple grade analysis and question recommendations to address students’ “learning psychology” and “emotional state” as well.
VISANG Education said on the 7th that a research paper using data from its independently developed META Comprehensive Learning Test had been published in the journal of the Korean Association for Human Resource Management, which is listed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI), and that the findings would be fully incorporated into the development of a “Learning Psychology and Emotion AI Agent” for teachers.
This is significant because it elevates AI education services, which have so far focused on grades and problem-solving, to a level of “hyper-personalized instruction” that also takes students’ psychological strengths and stress into account.
The study was conducted with advice from VISANG Education’s T-Learning Company Growth Coaching Office and Lee Jung-hak, a professor at Dongguk University. Using data from the META Comprehensive Learning Test, jointly developed with Sogang University and certified by the Korean Psychological Association, the researchers analyzed students’ learning stress, psychological strengths, burnout and engagement to identify the relationship between student types and academic outcomes. The findings confirmed through data that even students with the same grades can experience different difficulties during the learning process and have different psychological characteristics.
VISANG Education plans to apply the characteristics of different student types, validated through empirical research, directly to how the Learning Psychology and Emotion AI Agent—currently under development by the AllviA Platform Development Center—interprets students’ states and determines coaching approaches. This will enable teachers to grasp students’ psychological and emotional states at a glance and receive tailored information for learning guidance and coaching, classroom management, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
Choi Yun-hui, director of VISANG Education’s Growth Coaching Office, said, “Even when students receive the same grades, they may face different difficulties or have different strengths during the learning process, so they need tailored support.” She added, “This study has established a basis for personalized coaching that identifies strengths and addresses difficulties based on the characteristics of different student types.”
Yun Ji-myeong, director of VISANG Education’s AllviA Platform Development Center, said, “Based on the findings of this study, we will provide a AI service tailored to teachers that practically supports teachers’ instruction and counseling, from interpreting test results to determining coaching approaches for individual students and suggesting solutions.”
