Expanding online sales channels for Geumsan ginseng... Coupang’s ‘Good Store’ promotional event

[Financial News] Coupang is joining forces with Geumsan County in South Chungcheong Province to support online sales for ginseng growers and small businesses.
According to industry sources on the 7th, Coupang’s ‘Good Store’ is holding the ‘Geumsan Ginseng Excellence Products’ promotion with Geumsan County through November 30. Good Store is Coupang’s specialized section for supporting the expansion of online sales channels for local rural and fishing communities and small businesses.
Around 800 products are on sale, ranging from whole ginseng roots to red ginseng, fresh ginseng, ginseng syrup, extracts, sliced ginseng and health drinks. They can be purchased through Rocket Delivery and the Marketplace.
The promotion was organized to coincide with the 44th Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, currently being held in Geumsan County, the country’s largest center for ginseng production and distribution. Coupang plans to introduce Geumsan ginseng to more consumers and expand sales channels for ginseng farms and local small businesses.
Coupang has continued its cooperation with the Geumsan Ginseng and Medicinal Herb Industry Promotion Agency since signing an agreement with it in 2023 to expand online sales channels for local specialties and increase farm income. Examples include seller consultations, marketing support and efforts to boost online sales.
CPLB, Coupang’s private-brand (PB) subsidiary, also worked with Geumsan County to launch 10 PB products in July 2023, including ‘Six-Year-Root Geumsan Washed Ginseng’ and ‘Geumsan Washed Fresh Ginseng, Packed to the Brim.’
A Coupang official said, “We hope this promotion will help us introduce the quality of Geumsan ginseng to more customers and provide new sales opportunities for local farms and small businesses.” The official added, “We will continue to use Good Store to introduce excellent products from across the country to customers and work to contribute to the revitalization of local economies.”
