Residents can give commands through the Lotte Smart Home app installed on their smartphones, such as “Turn on the living room lights” or “Set the air conditioner to 25 degrees.” The AI analyzes the space, device and request, then controls the relevant device through the home network. Residents can check the results, such as whether the lights are on and the set temperature, on the app screen.
Lotte Construction said it introduced voice control to make smart home features easy to use for residents of all ages, including older people who are not familiar with digital devices.
The service was developed using Lotte Group’s proprietary AI platform, “Aimember.” It will initially offer frequently used functions, such as turning lights on and off and operating the air conditioner and setting its temperature.
The company plans to expand voice recognition to everyday services, including checking parking locations, booking community facilities within complexes and managing energy use. Its aim is to develop the service into a smart living platform that connects various residential services and data.
Lotte Construction previously developed an AI translator specialized for the construction industry with Lotte Innovate: the “AI Multilingual Translation Model for Construction Workers.” It supports communication among multinational workers at construction sites through voice-recognition-based translation.
