[Financial News] Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Kwon Oh-eul was taken to a hospital after reporting dizziness during a National Assembly audit on the 6th. Deputy Minister Kang Yunjin will attend the afternoon audit in the minister’s place.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said in a press notice at around 3 p.m. that day, “Minister Kwon has been feeling unwell since this morning and is unable to attend the afternoon audit,” adding, “The minister is currently receiving treatment at Central Veterans Hospital, and further details need to be confirmed.”
Minister Kwon appeared as a witness representing the ministry at the National Assembly Political Affairs Committee’s audit of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs from around 10 a.m. that day. The minister did not mention any particular health problems before the morning session ended, but reportedly told staff after the recess that something seemed to be wrong.
The ministry then sought the National Assembly’s understanding before transferring Minister Kwon to Central Veterans Hospital. The situation was reportedly not serious enough to require an ambulance.
Deputy Minister Kang is scheduled to attend the afternoon audit of the ministry in Minister Kwon’s place.
