[Financial News] Everland, part of Samsung C&T Resort Group, said on the 6th that it is holding “Kids Costume Fashion Week” through the end of this month, offering discounted full-day passes to children who visit in costume.
The event was designed to let children enjoy Everland dressed as princesses and princes, animals, dinosaurs, superheroes and other characters of their choice. Children under 12 wearing full-body costumes that include both a top and bottom can get a full-day pass for 15,000 won. They can book a discounted costume pass in advance through the Everland mobile app or the Smart Reservation section of the website, then visit in costume.
Customers using a discounted costume pass can also take part in a roulette event where everyone wins. Prizes include Som points, which can be used like cash at Everland, and a chance to take commemorative photos with a performer dressed as a witch. Visitors who ride designated attractions such as Thunder Falls and Royal Jubilee Carousel can also receive limited-edition costume stickers featuring Renny & Friends characters.
The participatory event combines admission discounts with photo opportunities and rides.
An online photogenic contest is also running through the 11th. To enter, participants can post on Instagram a photo of a child wearing a costume at Everland, along with the required hashtags. More than 1,000 photos have been posted so far, showing everything from character costumes such as Spider-Man and Snow White to horror-themed outfits and zookeeper uniforms.
Customers whose photos are selected as the best shots will receive prizes including a Safari Special Tour experience, Everland gift cards, and a set of costume dolls featuring twin pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao.
Through its monthly curation project, the Whatever Series, launched this year, Everland has held events featuring a variety of outfits, including school uniforms, soccer jerseys, countryside getaway looks and Hawaiian shirts. According to Everland, around 15,000 people have taken part in its costume promotions so far this year.
During the autumn festival, Everland will also feature flower gardens, performances by the Ppupa Band with animal-character performers, and the Smiley Pumpkin Parade.
An Everland representative said, “We planned this event to give children a special day when they can wear their dream costumes, let their imaginations run free and become the main characters.” The representative added, “The costumes prepared by customers themselves will come together with the autumn festival to create a fantastic experience, as if they had stepped into a fairy-tale world.”
