[Financial News] Duksung Women’s University is strengthening its cooperation with industry to develop practice-ready talent in AI-based drug development and data-driven digital transformation.
On the 6th, Duksung Women’s University signed an MOU with A Plus Simulation Co., Ltd. on its campus in Dobong-gu, Seoul, to promote industry-academia cooperation in AI drug development and data-driven digital transformation.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will conduct joint research on AI-based drug development and provide Duksung Women’s University students with opportunities for four-month corporate internships. Students taking part in the internships will gain practical experience in actual research settings and receive academic credit.
The university plans to continue technical exchanges with the company and provide consulting on research outcomes, led by faculty from its Department of AI Drug Development. A Plus Simulation Co., Ltd. plans to actively support students’ practical training and joint research.
Duksung Women’s University President Min Jae-hong said, “AI drug development and data-driven digital transformation are key fields that will shape industry and society in the years ahead,” adding, “I hope students will gain firsthand experience in research settings through the four-month internship and grow into leaders with both technical expertise and a strong sense of ethics.”
A Plus Simulation Co., Ltd. CEO Lee So-jin said, “Combining the university’s research capabilities with the company’s hands-on experience will produce tangible results,” and added, “We will expand opportunities for collaboration so students can grow in actual research settings.”
The agreement is an example of how the connection between Shin Hyeon-gil, a professor in Duksung Women’s University’s Department of AI Drug Development, and CEO Lee So-jin, which began through academic society activities, has led to student internships and joint research.
Meanwhile, key officials from both institutions, including President Min Jae-hong and CEO Lee So-jin, attended the signing ceremony that day.
