[Financial News] The Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) announced on the 6th that it will host the family experience program "Hangul Day: Discovering Our Alphabet at Yongdusan Park" on the 9th, Hangul Day, at the plaza in front of Busan Tower and throughout Yongdusan Park.
The event was designed to help children learn about the value of Hangul with their families and explore Yongdusan Park's tourism resources firsthand. In collaboration with the arts and culture education organization Shuette Arte, BTO will offer a program combining education, exploration and hands-on crafting activities.
Participants will learn about the principles behind the creation of Hangul as well as the meaning and origins of the name Yongdusan. They can also visit attractions including the Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, Busan Citizens' Bell and the Flower Clock while taking part in mission-based activities. A clicker-making activity connected to the exploration will then take place at the plaza in front of Busan Tower.
Program participants and their accompanying family members will also receive discounted admission to Busan Tower (BPEX). On the event day, the 9th, all family members can enter for 8,000 won per person. Staff will verify participation through the Naver reservation details at the entrance.
The program will be held six times for children ages 5 to 13. Children ages 5 to 7 must participate with a guardian. Each session will accommodate 24 participants, for a total of 144, and will last approximately 70 minutes.
Participation is free. Online advance reservations can be made through the QR code on the event poster until the afternoon of the 8th. More detailed information about the event is available by accessing the QR code.
A BTO official said, "We hope this will be an opportunity for children to naturally learn about the importance of Hangul and the stories of Yongdusan Park with their families," adding, "We will continue to present participatory content that makes use of local tourism resources."
