[Financial News]  As Physical AI expands beyond robots such as humanoids to buildings, facilities and urban infrastructure, cameras and AI video analytics technology are emerging as key components. For AI to recognize and make judgments about people, objects and environments in real-world spaces, it needs “eyes” that can perceive surrounding conditions in real time.
According to industry sources on the 6th, the role of the physical security industry is also expanding from simple surveillance and recording to real-time perception and decision-making. If CCTV serves as the “eyes” that collect information from a site, AI video analytics acts as the “brain” that analyzes the data and assesses the situation. Connecting sensors, monitoring and control systems, and robots can enable actual responses as well.
Applications are also emerging at industrial sites. Samsung Heavy Industries has introduced the integrated safety monitoring and control platform “ISMP” for shipyard safety management in collaboration with FocusAI. ISMP, built by FocusAI, links AI and thermal-imaging cameras with on-site sensors to analyze unsafe proximity between workers and heavy equipment, signs of fire, and intrusions into hazardous areas in real time.
Industry observers believe that as the Physical AI market grows, competitiveness will depend less on simply installing CCTV systems and more on how quickly video data can be analyzed and connected to actual response systems. An industry source said, "In the Physical AI era, cameras will go beyond being simple recording equipment and become key sensors through which AI perceives reality. Business opportunities will also expand for companies capable of integrating everything from video analytics and edge servers to monitoring and control platforms."
Among related companies, FocusAI is expanding its business beyond conventional video security into the Physical AI platform sector. It is targeting industrial safety, smart cities, and manufacturing and logistics by connecting AI cameras, AI servers, AI NVRs, ultra-low-latency video transmission (ULL), and slot-type edge servers (SGE) on a single platform.
In the second half of the year, the company plans to complete development of an integrated AI server combining AI Box and NVR functions. It will also expand its lineup of high-performance 36-channel and 64-channel embedded recorders, with plans to broaden applications to manufacturing plants, shipyards, logistics centers, power plants and construction sites.
Its AI video analytics capabilities are also drawing attention. At the Physical Retail AI Challenge, held in conjunction with the 2026 Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV) last July, FocusAI’s proprietary AI model “PASTEL” ranked first worldwide in the Retail Action Track 3 category. PASTEL can be connected to existing CCTV systems, AI NVRs and intelligent monitoring and control systems, allowing it to expand beyond smart retail into industrial safety.
TRUEN is expanding its intelligent video security business around on-device AI cameras. Through its “TA series” and “TX-8 series,” the company analyzes video directly on the cameras without a separate GPU server. It is also broadening applications to public and industrial sites through “TEAM,” software for integrated management and analysis of AI events.
Bellock is also applying AI technology to conventional security monitoring and control. In cooperation with Furiosa AI, the company is advancing its NPU-based AI video analytics solutions and expanding into areas such as integrated anti-drone monitoring and control.
