[Financial News] Doosan Enerbility has shipped a gas turbine to be supplied to xAI, a U.S. artificial intelligence company.
Doosan Enerbility said on the 6th that it had completed production of an S2 380-megawatt (MW)-class gas turbine (DGT6-300H) for export to xAI and held a shipment ceremony.
About 70 people attended the ceremony at Doosan Enerbility's gas turbine assembly plant at its Changwon headquarters, including key officials from xAI, the ordering customer, and Son Seung-woo, head of Doosan Enerbility's Power Services BG.
The attendees observed the gas turbine shipment process and toured the production facilities at the Changwon headquarters. They then met with Doosan Enerbility executives to discuss ways to expand the gas turbine business going forward.
The gas turbine being shipped will be used in xAI's energy infrastructure project in the United States. Doosan Enerbility plans to expand business opportunities with big tech companies based on this supply achievement, which met the technical specifications required by a global big tech company.
Son Seung-woo, head of the Power Services BG, said, "By entering the supply chain of a leading global AI company, we have demonstrated the technological capabilities and quality of Korean gas turbines." He added, "Building on this shipment, we will accelerate our efforts to target the global large-scale gas turbine market, including North America."
