Gangjin County will hold the 11th Gangjinman Dancing Reed Festival from the 24th through November 1 in and around Gangjin Bay Ecological Park. During the day, the festival will showcase the beauty of golden reed fields, while around dusk it will offer an autumn landscape set against the sunset over Gangjinman Bay.
In particular, spaces will be created throughout the festival grounds where families, couples, and friends can make lasting memories together, turning the venue into a place to relax and spend time in nature.
Kang Jin-won, governor of Gangjin County, said, "The Gangjinman Dancing Reed Festival will be more than a festival that visitors simply look around. It will be a warm festival where children, parents, and families can stay, communicate, and build memories together in the autumn. I hope everyone will fully enjoy the finest and largest ecological festival on the southern coast."
Gangjin County will first operate the 'Gangjinman Ecological Exploration Team Program,' allowing children and families to experience the natural environment of Gangjinman Bay up close. Participants will become exploration team members, tour the festival grounds and various parts of the ecological park, and encounter representative species of Gangjinman Bay, including Whooper Swans and Blue-spotted mudskippers. They will also naturally learn why migratory birds, tidal flats, and wetlands are so valuable to us.
Gangjin County will also offer hands-on programs that give new value to discarded resources, with the goal of protecting the area's beautiful ecological environment and promoting coexistence with nature. These programs will help children and family visitors experience the meaning of resource circulation and environmental protection in an easy and enjoyable way.
In addition, the county will strengthen waste separation and environmentally friendly operations at the festival site, while offering programs that allow visitors to take part in protecting nature.
An ecological experience center and an ecological information center will also operate in the park, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of Gangjinman Bay's natural environment and experience it in new ways. The ecological information center will explore the ecosystem of Gangjinman Bay, including natural monuments and endangered wild animals and plants that inhabit the area. At the ecological experience center, visitors can learn about the bay's four-season ecology and diverse species through exhibitions and hands-on content.
In particular, Gangjin County plans to organize various participatory events in which residents can take part directly in performances and programs, ensuring that the festival is enjoyed not only by tourists but also by local residents. The events will provide an opportunity to share the community's energy and warmth.
The county also plans to operate a Kids Zone where children and families can enjoy themselves together, offering special fun for families visiting the festival. Exciting children's performances tailored to young audiences will also be presented, allowing the whole family to watch, enjoy, and create precious memories together.
