The SEALION 6 DM-i was first unveiled in South Korea at the Busan Mobility Show this June, with customer deliveries beginning in August. BYD Korea said it added the AWD trim to the existing front-wheel-drive (FWD) version, allowing customers to choose based on their driving conditions and preferences.
The AWD trim is equipped with one electric motor on each axle. The front motor produces 150 kW (204 PS) of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque, while the rear motor delivers 150 kW (204 PS) and 340 Nm, respectively. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. Built around an all-wheel-drive system, the vehicle offers dedicated Mud and Sand terrain modes that adjust its driving characteristics to suit surfaces such as unpaved roads.
Equipped with a 26.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery, the vehicle can travel 93 km in pure-electric mode under the Ministry of Environment's certified testing standards. Like the existing FWD trim, it features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality capable of supplying up to 3.3 kW of external power and supports DC charging at approximately 18 kW.
Convenience features include Harman's Infinity sound system with 10 speakers, including a subwoofer, as well as multicolor ambient lighting, metal door-sill plates and dynamic ceremony lighting. A head-up display (HUD), along with eight-way power adjustment and a memory function for the driver's seat, has also been added.
A BYD Korea representative said, "We are pleased to meet the expectations of customers seeking a variety of PHEV options with an AWD trim that combines dynamic driving performance with premium convenience features."
