Bulgwang District 5 Demolition Begins, Set to Become 2,406-Unit 'Bukhansan Xi The Prestige'

[Financial News] The housing redevelopment project in Seoul's Bulgwang District 5 has begun demolition. This comes 21 years after the committee to promote the establishment of the association was launched.
According to Eunpyeong District on the 6th, Bulgwang District 5 will be redeveloped into Bukhansan Xi The Prestige, an apartment complex with a total of 2,406 units. The district received project implementation approval in 2021, selected GS Engineering & Construction as its contractor in 2022, and continued through the process after receiving approval for its management and disposal plan in 2024. The association plans to complete demolition by July 2027, begin main construction in October of the same year, and complete the project in 2030.
Eunpyeong District plans to strictly control noise, dust, and construction vehicle traffic that may arise during demolition and construction. It will also focus on minimizing inconvenience to nearby residents while continuing to provide administrative support for the smooth progress of the project.
Earlier, on the 2nd, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at a public parking lot in Bulgwang 1-dong. The event was hosted by the Bulgwang District 5 Housing Redevelopment Project Association and GS Engineering & Construction. Kim Mi-kyung, head of Eunpyeong District, association members, and other officials attended.
The association also donated 2,600 kilograms of rice, pledging to work in harmony with the local community. Eunpyeong District plans to distribute the donated rice to low-income households and other neighbors in need.
Kim Mi-kyung, head of Eunpyeong District, said, "Safety is the most important thing during demolition and construction," and urged, "The association and contractor should pay close attention to minimizing inconvenience for nearby residents."
