Dong-gu, Busan, Presents Hwarang Order of Military Merit to Family of Korean War Veteran

[Financial News] Dong-gu, Busan, announced on the 6th that it had recently presented the Hwarang Order of Military Merit to Yun Baek-ok, the younger sister and surviving family member of the late Private First Class Yun Jang-ji, who was killed in the Battle of Gapyeong in Gyeonggi Province during the Korean War.
The late Private First Class Yun Jang-ji had been designated to receive the decoration during the Korean War but reportedly never received the physical medal.
He was later identified through the Korean War Order of Military Merit Recovery Campaign led by the Republic of Korea Army Headquarters.
A district office official stated, "We find it deeply meaningful that we can finally honor the noble sacrifice and service of Private First Class Yun Jang-ji, who gave his life to defend the country," adding, "We will continue working to ensure that the sacrifices of those who devoted themselves to the nation are not forgotten and to improve benefits and welfare for their bereaved families."
