[Financial News] A delegation from a Japanese security agency made its first visit to the Presidential Security Service and exchanged security techniques and other practices. The delegation observed security training in South Korea and personally experienced a vehicle rotation lift and emergency escape training. The PSS expects the exchange to help stably support shuttle diplomacy between the leaders of South Korea and Japan.
According to the PSS on the 6th, the delegation, comprising officials from the National Police Agency of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Korea, among others, visited the PSS from the 28th to the 30th of last month. It was the first visit to the PSS by a Japanese security agency.
The security agencies of the two countries began with a welcoming ceremony at the Security and Safety Training Institute in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, followed by tours of training facilities, observation of group training, and hands-on training sessions.
Using the facilities of the Security and Safety Training Institute, a specialized security training institution, the PSS demonstrated counterterrorism tactics, special operations, and protective firearms training. The Japanese delegation personally took part in vehicle rotation lift and emergency escape training.
The PSS has continued to provide training and exchange experiences with security agencies from other countries. In April, it conducted four weeks of commissioned training for 10 security personnel from the UAE Presidential Guard Command. Reflecting the UAE’s requirements, the program covered everything from security theory and basic skills to advanced protective training and situation-response exercises.
According to figures released by the PSS in April, it had conducted a total of 14 commissioned training sessions with the UAE Presidential Guard Command since 2010. By that time, the Security and Safety Training Institute had provided a total of 55 commissioned training sessions to foreign security agencies since 2006.
