[Financial News] Jeil Pharmaceutical, which has been pursuing overseas markets with its gastroesophageal reflux disease drug 'Jakyubo,' is setting out to find global partners for its diabetes and anticancer drug candidates.
Jeil Pharmaceutical said on the 6th that it had been selected as an eligible company for support in participating in global conferences, exhibitions and partnering events under the 2026 second round of the Pharmaceutical and Bio Global Expansion Support Program (K-VIP), organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI).
K-VIP (Korea BioHealth Value-up Innovation Program) is a government support program designed to help domestic pharmaceutical and biotech companies expand overseas sustainably. It aims to systematically strengthen their global expansion capabilities in response to tighter import and export regulations in various countries, supply chain risks and changes in the trade environment. The area in which Jeil Pharmaceutical was selected provides financial support for participation in overseas conferences, exhibitions and partnering events.
Jeil Pharmaceutical received high marks for the technological competitiveness and global commercialization potential of its drug-development pipeline. The company has in-house drug candidates in the metabolic and anticancer fields, including the next-generation diabetes treatment JP-2266 and the innovative anticancer drug JP9441. Its plan to pursue consultations with global experts and partnering opportunities overseas based on these assets was deemed aligned with the program's objectives.
Jeil Pharmaceutical plans to use the support to participate in major global partnering events, including BIO-Europe 2026. At these events, it will hold direct meetings with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, broaden its network of potential partners and explore various opportunities for collaboration.
The company is continuing the global commercialization of Jakyubo while also stepping up overseas business development for its in-house drug pipeline. Following its selection for the program, Jeil Pharmaceutical plans to showcase the research and development achievements of its pipeline and identify various collaboration opportunities, including technology out-licensing.
Kim Soo-mi, head of Jeil Pharmaceutical's Global Business Division, said, "Being selected for K-VIP will allow us to broaden our connections with overseas companies at major global partnering events. While expanding the global commercialization of Jakyubo, we will work to broaden opportunities to take our in-house drug pipeline overseas and commercialize it, turning them into tangible results."
