[Financial News] COOCON, a business data platform company, announced on the 6th that it had supplied its Pet Registration Information Lookup API to Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance's pet insurance service.
This marks the first case in which COOCON's data infrastructure has been applied to the pet insurance sector. The adoption is significant because it automates the repetitive information entry and verification procedures involved in enrollment, improving both customer convenience and the insurer's operational efficiency.
The API enables real-time retrieval of a pet's registration information, including its name, sex and breed, using the pet owner's name or date of birth together with the animal registration number. It automatically verifies the pet information required at the contract stage and immediately confirms whether the pet qualifies for a premium discount rider.
Customers can complete the insurance enrollment process conveniently on mobile devices without submitting separate supporting documents. They can also check in one step whether they meet the discount requirements.
Previously, applicants had to enter their pets' information manually, creating a high risk of omissions or incorrect entries. Insurers also had to separately verify eligibility for discount riders and medical histories based on that information. This extended the time required for enrollment reviews and increased the internal workload.
By adopting the COOCON API, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance has automated the information verification procedures required during contract reviews. This has reduced repetitive manual checks and minimized potential errors in the verification process.
Kim Jong-hyun, CEO of COOCON, said, "We are continuously identifying API products that insurers actually need in the field to keep pace with rapidly changing market conditions. We will continue expanding our data infrastructure so that not only insurance customers but also insurers' internal staff, insurance agents and other industry professionals can use data more accurately and conveniently."
